Our parent church was started on May 30^th in 1907 as the Evangelical Holiness Church and, on September 15^th of 1927, this church became First Evangelical Church of Gimhae.  It is currently under the leadership of Senior Pastor Ryu Jong Kil. 

As the number of foreign workers in Gimhae increased, many church leaders saw the need for an English service so, in May of 2003, Gimhae English Ministry (GEM) was formed. 

The first pastor was a Korean Australian man, Pastor Kang Ho Kyoung, who served for two years before boarding a plane bound for America in December of 2005 to work on his MA.

Pastor Mendosa served GEM for six months in 2006 before heading to Seoul to take a chaplaincy.

Pastor Derrik served from August 2006 until he moved in May 2007.

In June of 2007, Pastor Davar Broeckert accepted the pastoral position and is currently our pastor.  He had an exciting life growing up in Africa as a missionary kid.  He was saved by grace at the age of 7, and has grown up with a strong biblical education, a love for ministry and a deep desire to see people come to know Christ and to strengthen their relationship with God.  He graduated from Bible college in 2001, and has served as a missionary in Israel and Zambia.  In 2005 he met the woman of his dreams, a beautiful Canadian named Shauntelle.  They were married a year later and shortly thereafter moved to Korea to teach English.  Little did they know the exciting ministry God would have in store for them.  They are happy to be a part of GEM and are both currently getting a masters online at Providence Theological seminary.
